Hockey is my absolute favorite sport, and I've had many opportunities to merge that love with my passion for filmmaking.
In 2018, Gelstx was a fledgling company with their sights set on the big league. Their team, led by Jason Silver and Super Bowl-winning punter Josh Miller,
had created a weighted stick infused with gel polymer which helped maximize the development of an athlete's shot. We shot this 1-minute video in about 2 hours,
and the edit was finished one day later. I did a bit of motion tracking in After Effects for the text overlays, and the hockey puck at the end was modeled with
Element 3D. I'd say this video helped their efforts, because now Gelstx is used by a handful of NHL teams, including the LA Kings, Anaheim Ducks,
and the New York Rangers. Killer!
